Congratulations to our Fall 2017 Graduates


Fall convocation took place on October 31st and celebrated the accomplishments of many students. Among them were 36 of our students in the Faculty of Dentistry. Identification of a new gene causing scoliosis and bone malformations


Professor Dieter Reinhardt was part of a unique collaboration among Shriners Hospital for Children – Canada, CHU Sainte-Justine and McGill University that has enabled researchers to identify genetic mutations involved in a rare disease that causes scoliosis and bone malformations. The findings, published in The American Journal of Human Genetics, are likely to help doctors recognize the genetic disease, and could someday lead to therapies for the condition.  Continue Reading




Drs. Tamimi and Abdallah’s work recognised on highly coveted front page

Professor Faleh Tamimi and former PhD student Dr. Mohamed-Nur Abdallah’s work was recognised on the highly coveted cover of the journal Advanced Healthcare Materials. The high quality figures presented in the paper appear on the front cover of this month’s journal.

A new PhD in Oral Health Sciences

The Faculty is developing a new PhD in Oral Health Sciences. Broadly conceived to represent the Biomedical and Oral Health and Society divisions of our Faculty, the program will build upon our stellar research reputation and Ad hoc PhD program, which was closed to new enrolment at the end of 2016.

The turnout at the Faculty of Dentistry’s McGill University’s Open House on Sunday October 29th was excellent. Many prospective students came to learn what McGill has to offer, both inside and outside the classroom, and have their questions about life at McGill answered.
