Dr. Feine selected as inaugural Editor for JDR Clinical & Translational Research

Dr. Jocelyne Feine was recently selected as the inaugural Editor of the IADR/AADR JDR Clinical & Translational Research. Dr. Feine was chosen for the unique vision that she will bring to the new journal focusing on topics of applied research that are relevant and applicable to the whole oral health community. First Summer Institute in Applied Mixed Methods a success

Drs. Nicolau, Levine, Castonguay and Pluye organized and taught the 1st McGill Summer Institute in Applied Mixed Methods in Oral Health Research (24th – 28th August, 2015). The event brought together professors and students from seven Canadian dental schools as well as from Brazilian and Mexican universities. Read the full story here.


Dr. Macdonald and co-investigators receive CIHR Priority Announcement operating grant

Congratulations to Dr. Mary Ellen Macdonald and co-investigators Drs. Nicolau, Allison, Esfandiari, Ka, Bedos, Fried, Mcnally, Carnevale and Hovey on receiving a CIHR Priority Announcement operating grant of $100 000 for one year. The grant will be used to for their study The oral health and dental care pathways of humanitarian migrants. Read the full story here.


Dr. McKee awarded 5 year CIHR operating grant

Congratulations to Dr. Marc McKee for being awarded a CIHR operating grant of $143 000 per year for the next five years for his project the Regulation of biomineralisation by osteopontin. This CIHR-funded work will help in understanding how decreased mineralization occurs in the rare osteomalacia diseases, where bones and teeth are incompletely calcified, soft and deformable and/or prone to fracture. Read the full story here.


Dr. Stone awarded 5 year CIHR operating grant

Congratulations to Dr. Laura Stone and co-investigators Drs. Lisbet Haglung and Magali Millecamps. They were awarded a five year CIHR operating grant of $155 550 per year to conduct their research titled "Low back pain: From mechanism to therapeutic intervention". Read the full story here.

Recruitment of MMI Evaluators

The Faculty is using Multiple Mini-Interviews (MMI) to select candidates for the DMD and DENT-P programs again this year. As every year, evaluators are needed for half-day sessions to rate MMI stations in both French and English. Click here if you are interested in learning more about becoming an evaluator.
