10th Annual Run for Outreach a Great Success

Once again this year, the annual Run for Outreach was a great success. Over 150 participants took part in the event on a sunny Mount Royal and more than 8000 $ were raised.  Runners capped off their run with lunch on the mountain together. See photos of the event here

Faculty of Dentistry collaborates on $2.5 million SSHRC Partnership Grant 

The Faculty’s Dr. Shahrokh Esfandiari and Dr. Richard Hovey will be collaborators on a $2.5 million Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Partnership Grant to address sexual violence on university campuses across Canada and internationally. The grant has been awarded to Dr. Shaheen Shariff, Associate Professor with the Department of Integrated Studies in Education and Director of Define the Line Projects at McGill University, who will be directing the project.  Read the official press release here


Student Excellence

Congratulations to Dr. Edwin Chan (former GPR resident at the Montreal Children’s Hospital) and all the co-authors who won first prize in the annual 3M Oral Care Graduate Student Research Presentations and Awards during the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (CAPD/ACDP) held on September 22. Canadian pediatric dentistry graduate students are selected to present original research at the CAPD/ACDP Annual Meeting.  Dr. Chan presented the project “Regenerative endodontic treatment of immature necrotic permanent teeth: 30-month follow-up”, developed during his GPR program under the supervision of Drs. Beatriz Ferraz dos Santos and Basma Dabbagh.

Also taking part in the conference was Dr. Anne Sophie Fortin- Pagé (Masters student at U of Mtl‎) who presented “Breastfeeding Improvements in Young Infants Diagnosed with Ankyloglossia after a Lingual Frenotomy”, a project which she conducted jointly with the Montreal Children's Hospital.
