Dr. Faleh Tamimi among  25 Canada Research Chairs for McGill 

Twenty-five outstanding McGill researchers are being awarded Canada Research Chairs (CRC), as announced today by the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, at the University of British Columbia. CRCs are granted to outstanding researchers acknowledged by their peers as world leaders in their fields. McGill research projects that will benefit from the new funds include those investigating the genetics of pain and childhood disability, as well as the ecology of the arctic and engineered quantum systems. Isabelle Chevrier goes above and beyond her role as a Dental Assistant

Isabelle Chevrier loves discovering new people and places which makes her a perfect fit for her role of Dental Assistant in the Undergraduate Teaching Clinic, welcoming new students every year and helping them navigate the transition from the Simulation Lab to the Clinic. She also spends her time and energy overseeing the volunteers for the Summer Clinic or volunteering herself. Read the full interview where she talks about her role as a DA and tells us about herself.


PhD Students Iris Boraschi and Juliana Marulanda receive the Network for Oral and Bone Health Research Student Scholarship

Congratulation to Iris Boraschi and Juliana Marulanda for receiving the Network for Oral and Bone Health Research (Réseau de Recherche en Santé Buccodentaire et Osseuse, RSBO) student scholarship award! The scholarship is valued at $15,000 is awarded to students who submit a project consistent with the Network’s research priorities and supervised by a regular member of the Network. Read the full story here.


MSc Students Mehrnoosh Alborzi and Nioushah Noushi awarded McGill Community Service Research Fellowship

Congratulations to Mehrnoosh Alborzi and Nioushah Noushi for being awarded the McGill Community Service Research Fellowship presented by the Fondation Marcelle & Jean Coutu research program committee. This fellowship is presented to students whose projects are in line with the objectives of the Fondation Marcelle & Jean Coutu. The fellowship allows a $10,000 stipend to be used during the 2015 – 2016 academic year. Read the full story here.


Meet our Professors: Mari Kaartinen

Dr. Mari Kaartinen joined the Faculty in 2002 after completing her post doctorate fellowship here. She is the Chair of the Executive Committee for the Division of Biomedical Sciences and heavily involved with the direction of the Division. In her video she talks to us about her research looking for biomarkers for new treatments to promote bone formation and to slow the progress of the disease. See her full bio and video here.
