10th Annual Run for Outreach

The 2016 Run for Outreach is quickly approaching, and the organizing team is excited to see you all on Saturday September 24th for race day. Please remember the minimum pledge is $25 in addition to the $12 registration. Fundraising can be done on our event’s Seeds of Change page here.

Meet Dr. Nathalie Morin, New Clinic Director

As of November 1st  2016, Dr. Nathalie Morin will be entering her new role as Clinic Director at the Faculty of Dentistry. To highlight the upcoming start of her mandate, we spoke with her about her career path, patient care and what makes her most proud of working at McGill. 2016 Summer Institute, a success!

The Summer Institute in Applied Mixed Methods for Oral Health and Primary Care Research held July 25-29 at the Faculty was a great success, with 11 participants from Canada, the US, Brazil and Hong Kong. Belinda Nicolau, the main organizer, was assisted by Alissa Levine, Geneviève Castonguay, Sreenath Madathil, Nora Makansi, Farnaz Rashid Kandvani, Nioushah Noushi (Faculty of Dentistry), Pierre Pluye and Quan Nha Hong (Department of Family Medicine).

Two grants for Dr. Nicolau

Congratulations to Dr. Belinda Nicolau who was recently awarded two grants as principal investigator for her project on the role of human papillomaviruses in head and neck cancers: one from FRQS ('16-'18, ranked 1st & only grant awarded in the cancer research competition) and one from the Cancer Research Society ('16-'18). 

Valerie Khayat, interim Communications Officer for the Faculty

As you know, our communications officer, Brenna Kaukonen, is currently on maternity leave.  Until the end of January 2017, Valerie Khayat has agreed to return as communications officer during Brenna’s leave.  Valerie previously worked at the Faculty from 2012 - 2014 spearheading the communications campaign for Our New Facility among other initiatives. Fifteenth Annual White Coat Ceremony

Yesterday evening, the fifteenth Annual White Coat Ceremony took place at Redpath Hall. Congratulations to all!
