Celebrating Service Milestones in the Faculty

One of the Faculty of Dentistry's greatest strengths remains its faculty and staff - through their dedication, passion, and willingness to give back, they continue to inspire members in the Faculty and at large. This year, the Faculty wishes to celebrate the service milestone years of staff members that have been with us for 15 years and more, in addition to expressing our best wishes to those retiring.

10 years after his passing, Professor Jocelyne Feine shares some touching words on former Dean Jim Lund's commitment to the Faculty, dedication to community service, and his legacy that endures to this day in the Jim Lund Clinic at the Welcome Mission Hall.

Remembering Dr. Sedlezky

As a pioneer of endodontics in Montreal, a valued faculty member for years, and a dear friend to many, the recent passing of Dr. Benjamin Sedlezky is sad news. Close friend and colleague Dr. Herb Borsuk took the time to remember Dr. Sedlezky, and his lasting impact in the Faculty of Dentistry.

After surgery, avoid this med at night

In his new research, Dentistry Professor Dr. Faleh Tamimi finds that inflammation is crucial to the body's overnight healing mechanism, and night-time doses of anti-inflammatory medications disrupt that process. Dr. Tamimi spoke about this important discovery on CTV News.

Dentistry Researchers have CIHR Success

Drs. Marta Cerruti, Monzur Murshed, Laura Stone, and Faleh Tamimi have successfully received grants from the CIHR for their respective projects on circulatory and respiratory health, and bone fracture recovery.
