Deadline to register for Fall 2020 Final Exams

The official final exam schedule for December 2020 finals has now been posted on the McGill website. Students who are eligible for exam accommodations for final exams must complete the online exam sign up form by the deadline of
November 27th
, 2020.

Please register as soon as possible!

Requests received after the deadline of November 27th, 2020 will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We cannot guarantee our ability to process late requests.

Please note that our operating hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

How do I register for final exam accommodations?

1. Refer to the dates and times outlined on the final exam schedule.

2. Use the online exam sign-up form to request exam accommodations through the OSD. It is the same form that you used to register for your accommodations this semester for in-term assessments. Only indicate authorized accommodations you are requesting for that particular exam.

3. If you meet the definition of an academic or a religious conflict, consult the McGill Exams Website and follow the processes outlined in order to obtain a resolution. These are coordinated with Central Exams Office, who then communicate with the OSD.

4. If you meet the criteria for an OSD exam conflict, please communicate with the OSD Exam Center via e-mail to notify us. You will be contacted via email once the conflict has been resolved, and an alternate schedule (if applicable) has been arranged.

There may be exceptional circumstances in which disability-related accommodations are still needed. These unique cases will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the OSD. If exceptional circumstances arise, please reach out to our exam team, so that we may assess the case. Should it be determined that individual time-based accommodations are required, this will be communicated to both the student and instructor.

What happens next?

1. Prior to the date of your final exam, OSD Exam Center will validate your approved time-based accommodations, and send an e-mail to your instructor or exam administrator indicating your accommodations. See above for circumstances when individual time-based accommodations do not apply.

2. Upon receiving notification from OSD, your instructor / exam administrator will adjust the exam parameters to implement your approved time-based accommodations (e.g., 25% additional time).

3. After adjusting the exam parameters, your instructor / exam administrator will communicate directly with you prior to the final exam to confirm that your accommodations have been prepared and to inform you of any resulting modifications to your final exam (format, start time, duration, etc).
