ARTA Members,

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate changing government restrictions.

Please note that your ARTA Emergency Travel Insurance continues to be valid and covers you for all sudden and unforeseen medical emergencies that are unrelated to COVID-19 regardless of changing restrictions.

Per the terms of ARTA’s contract with Allianz Global Assistance, claims related to a global travel advisory (in this case, COVID-19) will not be eligible ten days after the issuing of the applicable advisory.

As of December 18 - Special exception:

ARTA members that are currently away and wish to continue with their trip now have up to 21 days from the New Travel Advisory reinstatement date (December 15 2021) to purchase Covid individual insurance should they wish to have coverage for any Covid related events. The new end date for the offer of After Departure Covid coverage will be January 5 2022.

We understand your frustration as you attempt to contact Allianz and ARTA - both organizations are experiencing extremely high call volume and longer call times with more in-depth questions. We are doing our best to respond to each concerned member.

Allianz has extended their hours to weekdays from 8 am EST to 8 pm EST and have added Saturdays from 9 am EST to 5 pm EST and are adding new staff daily.

Allianz extends their warmest thanks for your continued patience as call volumes continue to increase & wait times are further prolonged.

ARTA is currently investigating the opportunity to add COVID-19 coverage to ARTA’s Emergency Travel Insurance and will update our membership as more information becomes available. As a non-profit association, we always focus on providing the most comprehensive coverage possible while balancing cost-effectiveness and impact to the overall plan.
