Bootleg Smokehouse is proud to launch their new smoked brunch menu, just in time for spring

Bootleg Smokehouse, located at 64 Spadina Avenue (at King St.), is excited to be launching their new weekend brunch menu, just in time for spring! Featuring unique dishes such as smoked berry french toast with bourbon maple syrup, eggs benedict with smoked hollandaise and signature brisket, and a shareable "Piggy Platter" with various types of smoked pork and delicious sides, Bootleg's brunch is unlike any other in Toronto.  They also feature a cocktail menu created for brunch featuring $20 pitchers of red, white or rose sangria, whiskey mimosas, caesers with smoked olives to get your day started off right!

Brought to you by the same hospitality team behind Watson's and Roxy on King, Bootleg Smokehouse's new weekend brunch menu brings a distinct modern flair to the table. Reimagining typical barbecue fare through your favourite brunch dishes, and drawing inspiration from Southern style smoke techniques, Bootleg provides a culinary experience like no other. Plus, with the brunch menu offering vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free items to be paired with a range of delicious brunch cocktails and local craft beer, Bootleg Smokehouse has tons of delicious options for everyone! 


Bootleg Smokehouse's one-of-a-kind menu is executed by Head Chef Kevin Diaz, a prominent local Torontonian chef. With over 14 years of industry experience, studying under renowned Toronto chefs at Bymark, Lamesa, Baro, Kanpai Snack bar and more, Diaz has developed a passion for fusion cooking and extraordinary flavours. He pulls inspiration from all cuisines, and focuses his passions on Southern Smoke techniques, making him the innovator of all things smoked at Bootleg. "There is a difference in loving what you do, and putting love into what you make." says Chef Kevin.


  Below Chef Kevin shares his mouth watering, secret cornbread recipe:

Bootleg Vegan Cornbread
Serves 6-10

Total cook + prep time: 2.5hours


300g x cornmeal
250g x ap flour
10g x salt
27g x baking powder
500mL x soy milk
200mL x maple syrup



Preheat oven to 400F.

Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl and whisk thoroughly.

In a separate bowl, combine soy milk and maple syrup until maple syrup is fully incorporated.

Mix the maple milk mixture into the dry ingredients until you have a nice batter with no flour clumps.

Allow the batter to set for 2 hours before baking.

Place batter into a 2 inch diameter muffin tin.

Bake for 8 minutes or longer if you want those crispy edges.

Allow to cool before removing from tin, and enjoy!
