Lucid is excited to welcome The Extension Method™ physical conditioning program to the health and wellness team! With a bright and beautiful studio at 30 Eastern Avenue, The Extension Room is proud to offer a diverse selection of The Extension Method™ ballet fitness and dance classes, workshops, and special events, all led by professional dancers. Fitness meets art in this unique, dance inspired space.

The Extension Room is the only studio in Toronto to offer the acclaimed Extension Method™ program, a complete ballet workout inspired by classical dance and comprehensive of all elements of fitness. Founded in 2003 by professional dancer and fitness specialist, Jennifer Nichols, The Extension Method™ strips away the tulle and satin to reveal the muscle of classical ballet technique. Regardless of dance and fitness background, this program provides an accessible and challenging workout for everyone.

While barre classes are a small component of The Extension Method™ program, The Extension Room sets itself apart from other barre studios in the city, as it is the only one to offer a diverse selection of classes that improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance by using a combination of classical ballet training and athletic conditioning. Being the first program of its kind in Toronto, Nichols' Extension Method™ is truly unparalleled.

The Extension Method™ is not just a barre workout— it is the COMPLETE ballet workout! While traditional approaches to fitness are often limited in their scope, Nichols' dance based training requires the body to move through an atypical range of motion. Combining classical ballet technique with contemporary athletic conditioning, her program is designed to help you achieve the strength, posture, ease of movement, and sculpted physique of a dancer. Beyond physical results, The Extension Method™ removes the boredom of a traditional gym workout, allowing you to have fun, be stimulated, and get lost in the movement. With a curriculum of 9 unique classes, each one designed to target different fitness goals and keep you active, The Extension Method™'s comprehensive program will complete your workout routine.

Extension Method™ classes include: Allegro Ballet Boot Camp, Développé Ballet Sculpt, Classical Core & Port de Bras (Abs & Arms), Coda Ballet Cardio, Adagio Stretch and La Ronde (Ballet on the Ball). The Extension Room also offers traditional classical ballet technique classes, for absolute beginner and intermediate levels, which provide additional tools for participants to increase their success in the ballet fitness classes. All classes are taught by classically trained dancers boasting elite careers, and thus offer an unparalleled standard of technical excellence, as well as an active and incredibly fun experience. You won't want to miss out on this opportunity to develop your posture, flexibility, and extension— without the intimidation of a traditional dance class!
