First things first: the West Vancouver Memorial Library Youth Department misses you!

You have no idea how much! Shannon, Lise and Roseanne can’t wait to see you after school and in programs again. Until then, we’ve got you covered.

LibraryConnect for West Vancouver Schools

The Library facility is closed, but we’re still here to support students and educators with ebooks, downloadable audiobooks, other digital resources and virtual programs. Just like you, we’re learning as we go and we look forward to learning together!

LibraryConnect is the best place to get the latest on how to contact us and what programs we’re offering—and we’re adding new ways all the time. We can also help with setting up your Library card so you can borrow digital materials, get great recommendations for kids and more.

What Students and Educators Need to Access the Library At Home

-  A West Vancouver Memorial Library card with a home address in West Vancouver.

-  Students or staff who live outside of West Vancouver need a special code on their account that tells us that they attend or work at a WV school (we likely put this code on when you signed up for your card—if you can access one of the resources below, you’re set!).

-  The Library card’s 4-digit PIN number or password. This should be the last four digits of the phone number you gave us when you signed up for your card.

If your WVML card doesn’t work to access the resources below, or you don’t know your PIN, contact us. We’ll help you!

We've compiled all of our digital resources for kids below.

These are on par with online paid subscriptions like Amazon, Audible and other services.

Your WVML card and PIN will let you sign up for a free account!

Storytime

Join us on Instagram every weekday at 10 a.m. for a live Storytime with our Youth librarians! No registration is required—anyone can tune in using the Instagram app on their smartphone or tablet. Just search for the westvanlibrary profile on Instagram and click on our profile picture (the Library logo). Note that you must use the app to view this content, not your computer. Each storytime will be live at 10 a.m. and will be viewable for 24 hours.

Kids StaffPick!

On weekdays at 2 p.m., you’ll also find our Youth Librarians giving quick kids book and resource recommendations on Instagram. These will be saved in our profile’s highlights so you can go back and watch them any time.

Tell Your Story Anthology

Over the last year, we have given dozens of young writers and artists in West Vancouver the chance to turn their creativity into a real library ebook as part of the Tell Your Story program. Now, more than ever, we want to publish as many young voices as we can.

We're putting together a digital anthology called Tell Your Story: A Community of Care. We invite all young writers and artists to create a one page piece that expresses:

-What it is like being a kid in West Vancouver right now
-What caring for others and yourself looks like now
-What you want kids of the future to know about this time

Learn more and sign up for the Tell Your Story Anthology here.
