A message from Campus Life & Engagement, the one office dedicated to new McGill students.

Dear ,

Welcome back to the FY5! We hope that you're taking some time off to celebrate this heartfelt weekend. The FY5 is a semi-monthly e-newsletter for first-year students with fun tips and tricks and memos for you to be aware of during the academic year. This week, you can find out about our Students Helping Students Campaign, Life Beyond McGill Residences, and registering for summer school. Enjoy!

Take Note!

March 1-5: Study Break

Classes are cancelled for all faculties and schools from Monday March 1 to Friday March 5, with the exception of the Faculty of Dentistry, the School of Medicine, and the School of Continuing Studies. Enjoy your well-deserved break!

March 9:

Course Withdrawal WITHOUT a refund

You can withdraw from a course without a refund until Tuesday, March 9. We recommend seeing an advisor before making any changes to your schedule. Visit the Advisor Directory to figure out where to go!

Students Helping Students

Students Helping Students is about connecting with your peers to support your learning and development. Campus Life & Engagement's campaign runs from Monday, February 22 to Friday, February 26 with fun events every day, but in reality there's no time constraint to when you can involved to help a peer. Every day is a good day to help a fellow student!

Being Black @ McGill

Summer course registration

Taking a summer course is a great way to stay on track for graduation. McGill offers a wide variety of courses from May through August—you can see the full list of courses here!

Registration for U0 and U1 students begins March 4 at 9:00 a.m. on Minerva. Due to high traffic, logging in may take as much as 15-30 minutes. For more information, click here.

We hope you have a great weekend! Remember that Campus Life & Engagement is here to help you if you have any questions during your first year—or any year after!
