A message from Campus Life & Engagement, the one office dedicated to new McGill students.

Hi Campus Life & Engage!

Happy Friday from the CL&E team! Starting university means taking on new responsibilities and challenges, like living on your own and planning for the costs of your attendance. This week, we're introducing you to the people and programs available to help you manage your finances while you're at university! For more information, we invite you to check out Scholarships and Student Aid's "Paying for Your Undergraduate Degree" video!

Learn About!

Scholarships and Student Aid is McGill's on-campus centre for financial aid. Here you can find all the resources and advice you need to make a financial plan for university, from step-by-step guides on budgeting, debt management, and how to apply for funding, including government and institutional aid programs!

Take Note!

1️⃣ Fees and payments are handled by Student Accounts.

  • Fall tuition payment deadline: August 31, 2021
  • Winter tuition payment deadline: January 5th, 2022
  • E-bills are issued through Minerva within the first five days of every month. Your first e-bill will be available as of early August for the Fall semester.

2️⃣ Entrance Bursary Program application deadline: June 30, 2021.

  • We strongly recommend applying within 30 days from the date of formal acceptance to the University, as funding for this program is limited and offered on a rolling basis until resources are exhausted.

3️⃣ Work Study Program and In-Course Financial Aid

  • You can apply for Work Study as of July 1, 2021 in Minerva.
  • The 2021-2022 In-course Financial Aid application opens on August 1, 2021.

Newly admitted, first-year students may apply for the Entrance Bursary program. The In-course Financial Aid program, however, is available to students in their subsequent years of study.

When you apply for In-course Financial Aid, you'll be prompted in Minerva if you need to book an appointment with a Financial Aid Counsellor to discuss your budget and review your application!

McGill University is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee (hoh-DEE-noh-SHoh-nee) and Anishinabeg (Ah-nish-ih-nah'-bey) nations. McGill honours, recognizes and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which we meet today.
