Hey Campus Life & Engage,
For those who still have a few finals left, good luck and you can do it! For those who have completed all your finals, congratulations on making it through your first ever round of McGill finals! We are sharing the last FY5 of 2020 with information and tips about the end of the year! The FY5 is a semi-monthly e-newsletter for first-year students with fun tips and tricks and memos for you to be aware of during the academic year. Before we get started, here's a holiday message from one of our alumni:
"I hope you can enjoy the festivities that come with the holiday season even though your loved ones may be at a distance and you are in Montreal. The lights in the city are beautiful and the mountain is a lovely place to walk. The birds will be twittering, and I hope you are lucky enough to see a red cardinal!
May you experience peace and joy!"
Cynthia Shewan, BA’65
McGill University Closure Dates

Course Registration & First Day of Classes
Thursday, January 7, 2021 is the first day of classes for the Winter 2021 semester. It is also the deadline for newly admitted students to register for at least one course to avoid a late registration fee. The add/drop deadline for Winter 2020 is Friday, January 22, 2020. For a full list of key academic dates, visit this webpage.
Fee Payment Deadline
Fees for returning and newly admitted students are due Wednesday, January 6, 2021. For more information on how to access your e-Bill, make a payment, and future deadlines, visit the Student Accounts website. Note that billing occurs on a monthly cycle so late registrations and changes to course loads will be reflected on subsequent e-Bills.
