Aug. 11: Get to know UBCO—Skeena and Nechako


Take a self-guided exploration through the Skeena and Nechako residence buildings on August 11 during the first-ever “Get to Know UBCO” tour, an initiative designed to introduce hidden gems to our campus community.


Skeena and Nechako are central to the student experience, but faculty and staff don’t often get a chance to look behind the scenes. All faculty, staff and contractors are welcome to participate.




Aug. 22 to 25: CTLT Summer Institute


The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) Summer Institute focuses on the fundamentals of teaching and learning for new instructors and teaching assistants.


Events are designed to enhance participants' understanding of sound teaching practices and implement them in their teaching contexts.

ProPASS discount increased to 50 per cent


Faculty and staff discounted transit pass program


Enrolment for the fall 2022 ProPASS period is now open, with new and exciting changes—including the ability to pay online and the discount has increased to 50 per cent off regular adult transit passes.


Enrol by August 31 for discounted transit passes for September to December.

Managing at UBC is a leadership development program designed to equip newer managers with the foundational skills, knowledge and tools to succeed and grow in leadership roles at UBC.


Applications for the 2022/23 program are due by August 12 at 4:30 pm.

Inviting feedback for new child care facility


UBC is developing a new one-storey child care facility co-located with the existing daycare building. The new facility will add 37 new childcare spaces to campus.


Campus Planning is inviting you to share feedback on the proposed new child care facility from August 11 to 19, 2022.

The Integrated Renewal Program, Student (IRP Student) is working to deliver a renewed, reliable and secure student information system. Workday Student, the anchor of this new system, is scheduled to be launched in phases in 2023 and 2024.
