Dear CATS community,

Things have certainly changed since the last time we published the CAT’s Corner! I hope that you are all managing as best you can during these trying times. Even though University buildings are closed, CATS is open to support you! Below, you will find a variety of resources to help you achieve your career goals. Moreover, we are in the process of adding resources to our website and creating web-based tools. We are still posting useful content on our LinkedInFacebook and Instagram accounts. We welcome you to engage with us on social media or in our new twice-weekly Virtual CAT’s Corner events via Zoom. Finally, we invite you to*meet* with one of our Career Advisors through a virtual platform (like Zoom, Messenger, etc.) or by phone. As per usual, in these sessions, we can help you design your career action plan, review your CV, cover letter(s) and LinkedIn profile, simulate job interviews, offer strategic volunteering guidance, or just chat about your career goals.

We understand that things may seem bleak right now, but it’s important to focus on the fact that the current situation is temporary, and now is the perfect time to invest in your job search preparation or in planning your career advancement. We’re with you every step of the way!

Remotely yours,

The CATS Team

Even for the most introverted, social distancing can be challenging especially if you aren't able to visit with loved ones and friends. Join us for our weekly Virtual CATS Corner chats via Zoom Meetings where we talk about varied topics, answer your questions, and most importantly we work on staying collectively motivated and focused on our respective professional goals.

McGill SCS Career Fair Recap

The School of Continuing Studies hosted its fourth annual Career Fair on February 20, 2020. We at CATS would like to thank the more than 450 attendees, employers, students and alumni who participated. This year, we did things a little differently as the Career Fair topped off with a 5 à 7-style networking event. Check out the photo galleries from both events.

"With everything that’s happening these days, it’s easy to fall into a pit of fear and despair. But, please note that panic is even more dangerous than any external factor. Take a deep breath, review your core strengths as a professional, and reposition yourself if required. Remember, pressure makes diamonds! All the stress and uncertainty that you may feel at this moment will make you stronger only if you push past the fear" - DIANA VIOLA
