Re-opening and registration dates

 

Following the temporary suspension, indoor
programs will resume on February 7 and dine-in service will resume on February 17. Outdoor programs remain uninterrupted.

 

Registration is now open for all programs. Pre-
registration is required for all programs at the
Seniors’ Activity Centre.

Valentine’s Day special

 

Love is in the air at the Garden Side Café and we’re celebrating with a special Valentine’s Day take-out meal for two!
Meals must be pre-ordered by Friday, February 11. Call 604-925-7280 to place your order.


Pre-ordered meals can be picked up on Monday, February 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Meal for two ($25 for members)

Bird Walks

 

Hop on our bus and visit a variety of locations on the North Shore to watch birds.

 

Be prepared to walk on any terrain, in most weather conditions. In the event of extremely poor weather, we will stay inside and review the latest books, technology, and information on birds.

Volunteers needed to lead walks and hikes

 

Getting outside in nature is not only one of the safest things to do right now, it’s also one of the best ways to boost mental health.

 

The Seniors' Activity Centre is looking for volunteers to lead walks and hikes. If you love the outdoors and are comfortable taking small groups on walks or hikes, please contact Caroline at cbrandson@westvancouver.ca

 

 

 

 

Fabric arts programs

 

Are you a quilter, sewer, or knitter? We are looking for individuals who can teach the basics and/or people who simply enjoy getting together to work on projects in a fun and social environment.

Do you have food industry experience or enjoy cooking at home? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love helping the team? Volunteer with us in the cafeteria!

 

Cafeteria volunteering shifts will resume on February 17. Please note that volunteers will be standing for their entire shift.

    (Monday to Friday, 8–11 a.m.)
  • Baker's support—sandwiches, salads, and more
    (Monday to Friday, 8–11 a.m.)
  • Food packers
    (Monday to Friday, 8:30–10:30 a.m.)
  • Feed the Need Delivery team—high mobility required
    (Mondays, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.)

Mid-day and afternoon

  • Dishwasher assistants—return clean dishes and more
    (Tuesday to Thursday, 12:30–2:30 p.m.)
  • Closers
    (Monday to Friday, 1:30–3:30 p.m.)
  • Chef's helper*—food prep and more
    (Tuesday to Friday, 3–5 p.m.)

*Requires previous experience with knives. Foodsafe Level 1 preferred.

Join us for a new program for those living with Alzheimer’s. Participate in two hours of activities that include reminiscing, playing games, creating art, and appreciating life together. Our goal is to promote independence, choice, well-being, and person-centered care.
