Build or Strengthen Research Collaborations with UBC Okanagan

Collaborative Research Mobility Awards provide up to $5,000 to support travel, equipment or other partnership costs for new or existing collaborations between UBC researchers in Vancouver and the Okanagan. Apply by Aug. 5.


Start or Extend Interdisciplinary Collaborations Across UBC in Post-Pandemic Health

Health After 2020 from UBC Health offers up to $10,000 to start or extend interdisciplinary collaborations that may lead to research programs and engagement with policy-makers and communities. Call for proposals opens Jul. 14.



Funding for Outreach Activities in the Social Sciences and Humanities

Connection Grants support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives. Full Application due Aug. 3.



Support for Operating and Maintenance Needs of Research Facilities of National Importance

The Major Science Initiatives Fund contributes toward the ongoing operations and maintenance needs of major national research facilities for which the loss or absence of support would represent a serious setback for Canada. CMHC & Impact Canada

Help Address Existing Barriers to Building Affordable Housing in Canada

Round 2 of the Housing Supply Challenge invites proposals for solutions that break down barriers in the pre-development process that limit the building of new affordable housing in Canada. Applications due Aug. 25.



Support Youth to Explore NSE Careers

PromoScience funds hands-on learning experiences for under-represented youth to explore careers in the natural sciences and engineering. Application due Sept. 15.

More Than $20M in NSERC Funding Awarded to New Projects Led by UBC Researchers

A total of 85 new projects led by UBC researchers were awarded $17.3 million through NSERC's Discovery Grants and Discovery Accelerator Supplements programs. A further $2.7 million was awarded to 22 UBC researchers through NSERC's Research Tools and Instruments program.


Fifteen New and Renewed UBC Canada Research Chairs Announced

Fifteen UBC researchers were appointed as new and renewed Canada Research Chairs in the latest round of appointments. The chairholders represent an investment of $12.3 million through the Canada Research Chairs program.


UBC Researchers Attract $3.5M through NSERC CREATE Grants

Two recipients from both UBC campuses received funding through the NSERC Collaborative Research and Training Experience program. The grants will support the careers of students and postdoctoral fellows as they develop research and other professional skills.
